Erik is an Academy Award®-winning VFX Supervisor, recognized for his work directing the groundbreaking character animation for Life of Pi. A 25-year VFX veteran, he began his career at London’s MPC and worked as head of VFX and Animation at Rushes before moving to Los Angeles and Rhythm & Hues, where he spent 17 years. He joined Method in 2013.
Erik’s credits include “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the VFX Academy Award®-winning “Golden Compass,” VFX Academy Award®-nominated “Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” the BAFTA- special-effects-nominated “Babe,” and most recently, the Netflix original film, “Okja.”
Erik was born in Amsterdam, and received a BA in Image and Media Technology from the Utrecht School of the Arts and a Masters Degree in Image Synthesis and Computer Animation from Middlesex University in the UK. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Visual Effects Society. See Full Credits
