Locking down five city blocks of downtown Los Angeles is no mean feat, but it was exactly what was required to bring a collection of fast vehicles from the past, present, and future to race against the new Mercedes AMG E63. Collaborating with director Mark Romanek, Method Studios seamlessly composited the various cars and bikes together, adding plenty of digital flames, burning rubber, and LED-like futuristic lighting for good measure. Using a combination of matte painting and high-speed compositing, every downtown background was cleaned and architecturally refined.
