FX Network ‘Tyrant’

FX Network asked the Method Design team in New York to create a set of graphics to be used as a promo toolkit for their new drama series Tyrant. Taking cues from Middle Eastern architecture, the designers created a colossal temple which emphasizes the themes of power and dominance seen throughout the show. The artists aimed to portray a sense of ambiguity and disorientation by means of warped perspectives and twisting animations.

After researching modern and classical building references, the crew put together a series of clips which will be used by the channel as elements within weekly promos. The abstract frames will allow for the addition of text elements and a set of transitional elements were also provided. The artists paid particular attention to creating a detailed version of the logo treatment which is revealed front and center. The Method crew's toolkit included Maya, V-Ray and Nuke.
