Method Recognized with D&AD Pencil Award for AICP Sponsor ReelApr 27, 2017
We’re proud to see our 2016 AICP Sponsor Reel recognized by D&AD as one of the year’s best pieces in design and advertising. Rupert Burton, who served as creative director on the project, was also a finalist for the D&AD Next Director Award. Method was tapped by RSA to concept and create the show’s sponsor reel, and to help celebrate creativity and artistry within commercial production. Our team developed the concept of a dynamic dance party, where each unique avatar is based on motion capture data and overlayed with playful elements ranging from balloons to fur to lights. For the avatars, the team developed 50 texture effects and custom procedural algorithms to execute them, plus a CG environment with lighting and camera setups and textures. The video has racked up over 120 million views and counting. Congrats to the whole team on their great work!
